Newsletters

I like doing something once and not having to think about it again all year. Infusionsoft makes keeping to a monthly or quarterly newsletter a breeze. Yes it involves setting it up once and updating your newsletter templates every month.

Newsletters made easy!

Here is how it’s done:

1. Create a “master newsletter template”.
2. Create your own “Newsletter Planning sheet” in Excel
3. Create a Tag “in 20XX Newsletter follow-up sequence”
4. Create a “20XX Newsletter” follow-up sequence
5. Create a “nag” or reminder email to you or your admin to “revise the next newsletter” email template
6. Take the “master newsletter template” from step 1 and clone it and rename it to each month or quarter’s newsletter and “save”
7. Add all the “reminder” emails and monthly/quarterly newsletters into the Follow-up sequence
Set this Follow-up sequence as a “count down” sequence from some end of year date..I selected December 7th as the “drop” date or date the December email will be sent. Every step is keyed off that date…

Now lets walk through the details…

1. Create a “master newsletter template”. You have four main choices to make your “20XX Newsletter Template”:
a) Make your own using Infusionsoft’s “drag and drop” email template builder (takes time and no $)
b) Buy a newsletter template from someone like High Impact Email Templates (for Infusionsoft in your application) from Template zone or a similar website (takes $$ and little time)
c) Use your current Newsletter template
d) Buy a preformatted Content filled Newsletter from someone like Jim Palmer “Newsletter Guru” Click to learn more

Once you build your “master template” save it in email templates in Infusionsoft.

2. Create your own “Newsletter Planning sheet” in Excel

The newsletter follow-up sequence you will create is a “x days before an Event”…or a count down type sequence. We are counting down to the last newsletter sent this year in December. By the way, next year you change the event date and repeat.

3. Create a Tag “in 20XX Newsletter follow-up sequence”
I like to name tags so that I can understand who these people are and where they are in the system
Tag everything in Infusionsoft! That allows you to measure and improve it.

4. Create a “20XX Newsletter” follow-up sequence
You will add 2 emails each month or quarter…1- a reminder to update the monthly/quarterly template 2- the monthly/quarterly template
Use the Planning sheet to select “drop” dates .
This is a Countdown to an event follow-up sequence (” x days before an Event”). I count down to the last newsletter delivered this year and all other dates are keyed off that date.

5. Create a “nag” or reminder email to you or your admin to revise the next newsletter template

Make sure you are sending this to yourself not your clients or prospects…change the “TO” line

6. Take the “master newsletter template” from step 1 and clone it and rename it to each month or quarter’s newsletter

7. Add all the “reminder” emails and monthly/quarterly newsletters into the Follow-up sequence
